The eSIM is a digital SIM card supported by most iPhones, replacing the traditional physical SIM card slot. It allows you to use multiple mobile carriers on one device without having to switch physical SIM cards.
A quick tip: If you own an iPhone from the USA, these models no longer have physical SIM card slots. This means you will need an eSIM when travelling abroad.
You should also be careful with used phones purchased online. These models often do not support eSIMs, for example if they are Chinese models. So make sure to check in advance which model it is and which country it comes from.
How to install an eSIM on your iPhone:
> Open Settings and go to Mobile Data.
> Select Add Mobile Plan.
> Scan the QR code from your provider or enter the activation details manually.
> Follow the instructions to activate it.
Beforehand, check whether your iPhone model supports eSIM technology. Most newer models from iPhone XS onwards are compatible.
